Victoria Silvstedt

Victoria Silvstedt was born on September the 19th in 1974. Her birth name is Karin Victoria Silvstedt. She is native of Skelleftehamn, Västerbotten County in Sweden. She is Swedish. She grew up with her parents and two siblings, a brother and a sister in Bollnäs, Hälsingland. Their father was the captain of a ski team. During her younger years, she wished to become a veterinarian because of how much she liked critters. She also was a horse rider, liking it very much.

Ski

It was thanks to two factors: one living in Sweden and two having a father who was the captain of a local ski team in Bollnäs, Hälsingland, that at the very early age of five Victoria started her ski lessons. Ten years later she got to the fourth position in a ski competition, more precisely, in the giant slalom category. Her skiing career was cut short when she suffered an injury during another competition that she took part of. This accident happened just one year from her last performance in the giant slalom ski competition.

Starting a Career

From the moment she had to stop her skiing career, Victoria started to look elsewhere, with her decision made much easier when she was invited to participate of Miss Sweden. This was a beauty pageant that was produced by Strix and MTG and owned by VeckoRevyn. Then at the age of nineteen, she went to North West, Bojanala in South Africa to participate in the beauty pageant 1993 Miss World.

The competition was hosted in the luxury hotel Sun City. After the competition, she drifted to Paris, France. There she signed with a modelling agency. Working there she modelled for various important fashion houses that are recognised all around the world, such as Valentino, Giorgio Armani, Chanel, Christian Dior, Loris Azzaro, and Givenchy. She worked modelling in runways and for the advertisements.

Playboy

Three years later, after the 1993 Miss World, she travelled to Los Angeles, California to participate in a photo shoot. Adult magazine publisher Hugh Marston Hefner had invited her. Thanks to being noticed by the founder of Playboy Enterprises she became the Playmate of the Month in December of that same year, 1996. By the next year she won Playmate of the Year. She then continued to work for the Playboy magazine appearing in various numbers from then on.

Her work with Playboy included appearing in their videos, Play Videos, and in Playboy Special Edition.

Other Works

Her connections to the fashion industry got her to become the spokesperson for the clothing brand and retailer company Guess.

Her career as model continued. She modeled for brands such as Renault, Lynx, Triumph International, and Nike. At the same time, she worked for various famous magazines such as GQ, Maxim, Vanity Fair, FHM and Glamour. Another job, was being featured on the covers of the re issued DVDs of Russ Meyers. Her work as model has got her featured in more than five hundred covers.

Acting Roles

At the beginning of the 90s, she participated in the Fox produced soap opera Melrose Place and in the syndicated teen sitcom Malibu, CA. She also worked acting in television in Europe in shows. Apart from that she also worked in some movies, for example, Boat Trip, The Independent and Out Cold.

Personal Life

She married Chris Wragge in 1998. She had a divorce. She does not have another husband. As a model, she has care of her figure with a diet. The makeup she prefers is Club 55.
