In 2010, Jackson faced a setback when he was suspended by the NFL for violating the league’s personal conduct policy. His career during this period featured contract disputes, including issues relating to conduct and team negotiations. In July 2011, he filed a lawsuit against the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) but later dropped the suit.
One of his most remarkable performances came in a game against the Green Bay Packers, where he tallied three touchdowns and 101 receiving yards. His efforts earned him a spot in the Pro Bowl as a replacement for Wes Welker.
In 2012, Jackson signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. By October, he had already made team history, recording the longest reception ever by a Buccaneers player. That season, he was again selected to the Pro Bowl, this time replacing Calvin Johnson. In 2013, Jackson was appointed team captain—recognition of his leadership on and off the field.
Later that season, he scored a touchdown in a game against the Philadelphia Eagles and exceeded 100 receiving yards in a matchup against the Atlanta Falcons, where he also scored multiple touchdowns. While his individual performance declined in 2014, Jackson still contributed significantly. Alongside teammate Mike Evans, the two became the first pair of Buccaneers wide receivers to each surpass 1,000 receiving yards in a single season.
Jackson married Lindsey VanDeweghe in 2011. In a heartwarming moment, he proposed to her during his induction speech into the Athletic Hall of Fame, inviting her on stage in front of a surprised and supportive audience.
In 2012, the couple co-founded the Jackson in Action 83 Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports children of military families by providing educational resources and psychological support. As part of their outreach efforts, Vincent and Lindsey co-authored the children’s book Danny Dogtags: Dealing with Deployment, aimed at helping military children cope with the challenges of parental deployment. In addition to his philanthropic work, Jackson was known for his active presence on Twitter, frequently engaging with fans and supporting community causes.
