Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt was born July 12, 2008 in Nice, Alpes-Maritimes, France. She is twin sister to Knox Leon Jolie-Pitt, and daughter of actress Angelina Jolie and actor Brad Pitt. The twins have four other older brothers and sisters: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, and Simon. Vivienne's middle name, Marcheline, was a tribue to Jolie's mother, Marcheline Bertrand, who died shortly before Vivienne's birth.
The first pictures of twins Knox and Vivienne were sold to People and Hello! magazines for a reported total of $14 million. At that time, this was the record breaking highest amount ever paid for celebrity child pictures. The previous record was held by Vivienne's older sister, Shiloh, where proceeds were donated to the Jolie-Pitt Foundation.
Vivienne appeared alongside her mother, Angelina Jolie, in the movie Maleficent in 2014 at age five. She played the role of the young Princess Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) and was cast for the movie in part because she was one of the few children who auditioned who wasn't terrified of Jolie in her costume. Although Jolie and Pitt frequently allow their children to play as extras and participate on movie sets, they have never forced or encouraged acting. However, when none of the other three and four year old actors would approach Jolie during auditions, Vivienne was offered the part. Vivienne's older brother, Pax, was even terrified of his mother's costume.
Vivienne is currently homeschooled and has an interest in learning the Arabic language.
