Willie Aames is an American actor, director, producer, and screenwriter who was born on July 15, 1960, in Newport Beach, California, in the United States. Aames' full name is Albert William Upton and he attended Edison High School in Newport Beach, California. Growing up, Aames participated in both the choir and the Madrigal Ensemble. His career in acting began when he was just a child in the 1960s. Aames had appearances in shows like "Gunsmoke, "The Wonderful World of Disney", "Adam-12", and more. As his career progressed, his roles got bigger and he went on to play Leonard Unger on the ABC television series "The Odd Couple". His career also consisted of smaller roles on various other shows such as "The Waltons". Aames gained even more recognization after he played Benjamin Franklin as a 12-year-old in the miniseries "Benjamin Franklin".
His next role would be his feature film debut as a co-star on the film "Swiss Family Robinson." Aames went on to marry Vicki Weatherman in 1979 and the couple had a boy together named Christopher. He married a second time in 1986 to Maylo McCaslin and also had a child with her named Harleigh Jean. After struggling with addiction, Aames divorced again and went on to marry Winnie Hung. After losing everything in a private bankruptcy after investing in a failed television series he got clean. He went on to become a Cruise Director for Oceania and Regent cruise ships.
