Wiz Khalifa was born on 8 September 1987 in North Dakota, USA. His name given by his parents was Cameron Jibril Thomaz which he later changed to Wiz Khalifa. His parents were serving in the military and they later got divorced when Khalifa was just 3 years old. His childhood was spent in Germany, Japan, UK and some other places as his parents were in the military and had to move to another place every couple of years or so. He did his high schooling from Taylor Allderdice High School. Khalifa changed his name since his granddad was a muslin and because he was called Young Wiz while growing up.
Khalifa in his initial days was just an average singer singing from place to place to make some money. Most of the shows that he did were for fun. He was discovered by Benjy Grinberg who gave him the contract and financed him to produce his first album called Prince of The City : Welcome to Pistovania in 2005. A year later he released another album called Show and Prove for which he was declared as the Artist to Watch by the Rolling Stones Magazine. In 2007 he released two mixtapes in collaboration with Warner Bros Records. His first song to feature in Billboards Top 100 was Say Yeah that he debuted in 2007. In July 2009 Khalifa left Warner Bros because of some problems with the delay in the release of his albums. He then signed with Rostrum Records and released the new song Teach U to Fly. He was now a very well-known rapper in the industry and everyone wanted to work with him. His mixtape Kush and Orange Juice was a very big hit all over the world as it was ver good quality and also free. It became a twitter hashtag and the search for this song was done the most number of times on Google. His song Black and Yellow became so famous that it broke all his previous records. This song reached the top of the Billboards. In 2015 Khalifa released See You Again for the movie Furious 7 In remembrance of Paul Walker who had died earlier in a car crash. This song was his biggest hit till date being watched 1 billion times on Youtube and also reached the top of the Billboards Chart. Khalifa is currently in a relationship with Amber Rose who's is a model. They got married in 2012 following a year dating. They have been separated now following a divorce filed by Amber Rose citing certain indifferences as the cause for it. He has a son with his wife.
