Early Life and Education

Born on April 9, 1980, in Jacksonville, Florida, Yoanna House is the daughter of a Canadian physician and a Mexican mother. In 1998, she graduated from Bishop Kenny High School and later attended the University of North Florida. There, she majored in both Asian Studies and International Studies. An exceptionally intelligent individual, House is fluent in English, Spanish, and Japanese.

From a young age, House exhibited a deep interest in fashion. She enjoyed shopping, reading fashion magazines, and keeping up with trends. She often visited malls with her grandmother to observe the latest styles. After completing her university education, Yoanna initially faced challenges in pursuing a modeling career due to her weight. However, she remained determined to follow her passion for fashion.

Pursuing a Career in Fashion Modeling

Yoanna House's journey to becoming a model was marked by dedication and persistence. Driven by her dream, she committed herself to a stringent dietary and fitness regimen for two years. Her hard work paid off in 2004 when she won Cycle 2 of America’s Next Top Model, marking a major turning point in her professional life.

Following her win, she began receiving offers from the fashion industry. Her first major assignment was at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, where she walked the runway for designers such as Sue Wong, Petro Zillia, and John Sakalis. Her debut commercial was part of the “Declare Yourself” campaign, encouraging civic engagement among young adults.
