Alex Rodriguez

Alex Rodriguez was born on July 27, 1975 in New York City. He is of Dominican descent. He has half-brother Joe and half-sister Suzy. He studied at the Christopher Columbus High School. Later he moved to Westminster Christian School. There he started playing baseball as shortstop. In the 1993 Alex even became the first high school player, who tried to join the United States national baseball team.

The next year he finally started his professional career and entered to the Minor-League Baseball with Appleton Foxes of Class A Midwest League. He was promoted to the Jacksonville Suns team, where he played 17 matches. From 1994 he played for the Seattle Mariners team and made his first appearance on July 8. In the 1996 he becomes team regular shortstop. During his time for Mariners he was honored with the Silver Slugger Award twice.

In the 2000 he becomes a free agent and later signed a contract with the Texas Rangers team. It was the most lucrative deal for ten years and 252 million dollars.
