Entry into Professional Baseball

In 1994, Rodriguez began his professional baseball career, entering Minor League Baseball with the Appleton Foxes of the Class A Midwest League. He was later promoted to the Jacksonville Suns, where he played in 17 games. That same year, he joined the Seattle Mariners and made his Major League debut on July 8. By 1996, he had become the Mariners' regular shortstop. During his tenure with Seattle, Rodriguez earned the Silver Slugger Award twice, recognizing his outstanding offensive performance.

Texas Rangers and Record-Breaking Contract

In 2000, Rodriguez became a free agent and signed a record-setting 10-year, $252 million contract with the Texas Rangers—the most lucrative deal in sports history at that time. New York Yankees and Career Milestones

Rodriguez's career flourished with the Yankees. He maintained impressive statistics and became a key player over his 12-season tenure. During the 2004 American League Division Series against the Minnesota Twins, he stood out as a dominant hitter. In 2009, however, he was at the center of controversy when it was revealed that he had tested positive for testosterone during a 2003 survey test.
