While Angela Buchman was in college at Purdue, she worked at the National Weather Service in Indianapolis. She was able to learn quite a bit about the industry and the real-life applications of her education. Upon graduating from Purdue, she was hired by WLFI-TV 18 in West Lafayette, Indiana.
After the career at WLFI-TV, which was her first on-camera experience, she moved to Sacramento, California. In Sacramento, Angela spent four years forecasting the weather in Northern California. Eventually, she decided it was time to return to her roots and she came back to her home state, Indiana in 2001 and started forecasting on the local network, WISH. After her one year stint at WISH, she decided to leave it and take some time off.
After her break, she was ready to come back to weather reporting. She decided to join WISH's cross town rival station, WTHR. WTHR was the market's biggest station so her move was understandable and justified. Her forecasting, skill, charisma, and charm have earned her five Emmy awards.
