From 1999 to 2005, McGlowan held the position of Director of Government Affairs and Diversity Development for News Corporation, the parent company of Fox Entertainment Group. She was responsible for developing and implementing diversity initiatives and served as a lobbyist advocating for the corporation’s legislative and regulatory objectives in Congress.
In 2007, she published her book, Bamboozled: How Americans Are Being Exploited by the Lies of the Liberal Agenda. The book resonated with a segment of the American public and reached the eighth position on the Washington Post Bestseller List. It cemented her reputation as a conservative political commentator.
In 2010, McGlowan announced her candidacy for Mississippi’s 1st congressional district, aiming to challenge incumbent Democrat Travis Childers. Though she lost in the Republican primary to State Senator Alan Nunnelee, she made history as the first Black woman to run for Congress in that district. Reflecting on her campaign, she stated, “We lost the battle, but won the war. A milestone was achieved for others to follow.”
Angela McGlowan currently serves as a business and political analyst for FOX News and the FOX Business Network, where she is a regular contributor on national political and social issues.
Since February 2006, she has been married to John Venners, CEO of the Venners Group. Venners brings over three decades of experience in managing private and public companies. Although Angela does not have children of her own, she is a stepmother to Venners' children. Her estimated net worth is approximately $3 million.
Angela McGlowan’s journey serves as an inspiration to many African-American women confronting racial and financial obstacles. Her multifaceted career in politics, media, and advocacy underscores her commitment to public service, empowerment, and representation.
