Anita formally began her professional acting career in television in 2004. Her first appearance was on the British medical drama Doctors. She later appeared in other television productions, including a role in the 2005 Doctor Who Christmas special and a part in The Evidence in 2006.
Her breakthrough role came in the Showtime historical drama The Tudors, where she portrayed Queen Jane Seymour. This performance brought her widespread recognition and critical acclaim.
