Anna Akana is an American actress, filmmaker, comedian and author, who is well known for her YouTube channel which has over two million subscribers. Anna Akana was born August 18, 1989; she is of mixed ancestry, including Japanese, Filipino, and Hawaiian, among others.
Anna creates comedic YouTube videos and has appeared in the television series Awkward. Anna also has a clothing line called Ghost & Stars which features cat-themed designs. In 2007, Akana’s thirteen year old sister died of apparent suicide; this event has had a lasting impact on Akana’s life and has led to her becoming a strong advocate for suicide prevention. Anna Akana published her book “So Much I Want to Tell You: Letters to My Little Sister” in 2017.
