Anthony Michael Hall, born Michael Anthony Thomas Charles Hall in April 1968 in West Roxbury, Massachusetts, is an American actor, producer, musician, and singer-songwriter. He began his screen acting career in 1980 and quickly rose to fame for his roles in teen-oriented films of the 1980s. Among his early and most notable performances are roles in "Sixteen Candles" (1984), "The Breakfast Club" (1985), and "Weird Science" (1985). His breakout performances in these coming-of-age films made him a prominent member of the so-called "Brat Pack"—a group of young actors frequently cast in teen dramas during the decade.
Hall’s extensive filmography includes a range of roles that showcase his versatility as an actor. Some of his prominent film appearances include "Edward Scissorhands," "A Bucket of Blood," "All About the Benjamins," and "Pirates of Silicon Valley," in which he portrayed a young Bill Gates. Hall has referred to that role as among his favorites, describing the experience of portraying one of the most influential figures in technology as particularly rewarding.
