Antonio Juan Fargas was born on August 14th 1946, in New York City, he's the child of Manuel Fargas and Mildred Fargas, while growing he had eleven siblings as his father worked for the city of New York. His dad was Puerto Rican while his mum came from Trinidad and Tobago. Before his rise to fame he worked as a register at a local shop.
Personal life
He married Taylor Hastie in 1979, but their marriage lasted for only nine years, he then moved over and re married Sandra Reed. He has a child Justin Fargas. His son graduated from the University of Southern California and he played as the starting running back for NFL team Oakland raiders. Also his son's wife is a coach for the LSU women's basketball team.
Antonio Fargas has an estimated net worth of about $20 million. On an article published by Hollywood Reporter he was said to have been named the brand ambassador of NBC's COZI TV.
He really hasn't showed any interest of such is social networks like Twitter and Tumblr, but it's no surprise considering his age and all.
Career
Antonio became famous as an actor in the 60's for his role in the comedy cult film Putney Swope, he also starred in Blaxploitation in the early 70's. He was also popular for featuring in movies like across 110th Street and Foxy Brown.
He gained widespread recognition for the name "Huggy Bear" an informant in the '70s TV series titled Starsky and Hutch. In the mid 1980 he featured in All My Children a movie which was aired by ABC.
Due to his success in the movie industries he was widely recognised as a great actor as he was featured in one of Backstreets Boys hit song music video "Everybody"
Antonio made guest appearances in popular comedy shows like The Steve Harvey show and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
He also went on and featured in British television shows, he made frequent appearances in reality series I'm a celebrity.Get Me Out Of Here!
In 2009 he had a steady role in the TV series Everybody Hates Chris, where he played the role of "Doc"
In 2008 he took part in a boxing moving Sucker punch.
Huggy bear became a word in the popular culture and Babasonicos an argentine band made a song called "Antonio Farags" in 1998, the song contained lyrical element like "Antonio Fargas is Huggy Bear" in Spanish.
The word Fish Shoes became popular from the role he played in the film I'm Gonna Git You Sucka.
