Antonio Fargas

In 2009, Fargas played a recurring role as “Doc” in the TV series Everybody Hates Chris. The year before, he was cast in the film Sucker Punch, a boxing-themed movie not to be confused with the 2011 fantasy action film of the same name.

Antonio Fargas's “Huggy Bear” persona became a cultural touchstone. The Argentine rock band Babasónicos paid tribute to him in their 1998 song “Antonio Fargas,” which includes the Spanish lyric “Antonio Fargas es Huggy Bear.” Another memorable part of his legacy comes from the cult comedy I’m Gonna Git You Sucka, where his character’s exaggerated “fish shoes” became an instantly recognizable comedic image in pop culture.
