In 2009, Monroe announced the release of her debut album Satisfied, though the final track list did not include “I Don’t Want To.” That same year, she released the self-titled Ashley Monroe EP, featuring songs such as “Everything I Wanted,” “And You,” “Has Anybody Ever Told You,” “Drink for Two,” and “Angelina.”

She later signed with Warner Bros. Nashville and released her second studio album, Like a Rose, in 2013. The album received critical acclaim and charted on the U.S. country charts.
