Bd Wong

B. D. Wong (full name Bradley Darryl Wong) was born in 1960, October 24 in San Francisco, California. His mother Roberta Christine worked as a supervisor in one of the companies who provide telephone services while his father William worked in a post office. Wong has two brothers one of who is younger and another is older than Bradley. During his time growing up in San Francisco Darryl went to Lincoln High School where he felt in love with acting and got a lot of support from his peers as well as his teachers. Wong appeared in numerous plays that were produced by the school and he was often the one in the leading roles. After finishing high school the actor wanted to further his education and enrolled at San Francisco State University where he got his Bachelor's degree.

Career

The first time he did acting work after graduating from university was in 1983 when he appeared on No Big Deal. Three years later he had a small cameo in John Avildsen's The Karate Kid, Part II. All these roles were really minor and did not get Wong attention he wanted but this all changed in 1988 when he made his debut on Broadway. M. Butterfly, a play written by David Henry Hwang has won a Tony Award in 1988 for the best play and B. D. was one of the main characters – Song Liling. This was his great moment and the actor was nominated for various awards thanks to his spectacular performance. Since then his career began and he was given more and more important roles. In 1992, he was in one of Steven Spielberg's masterpieces Jurassic Park, a movie that made over 1 billion dollars at the Box Office. Wong was playing a role of Henry Wu. In 2015, Colin Trevorrow directed Jurassic World, another Box Office success and once again Wong was playing the same character like he did 23 years ago. Another of his noticeable works in the movie industry is that of being a voice actor for Disney's Mulan and Mulan II where he was playing a character named Shang. At the moment, the actor is working on the set of Peter Chelsom's sci-fi film The Space Between Us which is set to be released later in the year 2016.

Though the actor is mostly famous for his acting in films, he has also done some television work. He appeared in various shows including The X-Files, Oz and most recently Mr. Robot. His longest work in television is without a doubt playing Dr. George Huang in Law & Order: SVU, one of the main roles throughout the whole series.

Personal life and trivia

1988 was the year when Wong started dating Richie Jackson and the two were together until 2004. The two have a son which was born thanks to the surrogate mother.

The actor's net worth is estimated to be worth around 8 million dollars which is pretty much considering that many people in his line of work do not have the same net worth as Wong.

Awards and nominations

B. D. Wong won GLAAD Media Award in 2003. He was also nominated for Critics Choice Television Award for his performance in Mr. Robot.

The actor had a great career so far and he is still going strong. The roles he played are iconic and his fan all over the world cannot wait to see him in other projects.
