Ben liked football very much and used to play at a local football team at the St. Andrew's Episcopal School. After finishing the middle school, Ben Mckenzie attended Austin High School where he continued to play as a wide receiver. In 1997, he entered the University of Virginia. This university was not only his choice, his father also, along with Ben’s grandfather graduated from University of Virginia. At the university, he studied foreign affairs and economics.
