Early Life

Benjamin McKenzie Schenkkan, popularly known as Benjamin McKenzie was born in Austin, Texas and American by birth. He was born on September 12, 1978 and thirty seven years of age. His father is a lawyer and his grandfather is a professor. Coming from a highly educated non-filmy background, he wanted to become an actor and his family members encouraged him.  He completed his graduation from Virginia University in 2001 and shifted to California to chase his dream.

From the start of his career, he had been linked up with several girls and the list is so long. In 2006, there were reports that he was dating Amanda Loncar. Subsequently, there were rumors that he is dating Shelley Hennig, Emily VanCamp, Nina Dobrev etc. but Ben McKenzie never made any comments on these rumors. Morena Baccarin who is the wife of Austin Chick applied for a divorce and once they get separated, she will marry Ben McKenzie.

Acting Career

Though his acting journey started in 2000, his first break through came through the film Johnny Johnsten and the role Junebug was received well by audience. His movie acting career took a big leap after this movie and he never looked back. 88 Minutes, Decoding Annie Parker, Goodbye World, Some Kind of Beautiful are some of the hit movies in which he played crucial roles. He gave voice to the lead character in Batman: Year One movie.

He made his small screen debut in 2002 and the role of Tim Ruskin in the show The District was received well by critics. The O.C., MADtv, Southland, Gotham are some of the TV serials in which he played very important roles. In the TV serials like Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated, JAG, Men at Work, he played small but important roles.
