Awards and Recognition

Betty Nguyen has received numerous accolades in recognition of her journalism and public service. Her honors include a regional Emmy Award for Outstanding Noon Newscast, the Legacy of Women Award from the SafeHaven of Tarrant County, and the Golden Torch Award from the Vietnamese American National Gala. She has also been named a Great Women of Texas: Women of Influence honoree by the Fort Worth Business Press and received the Outstanding Young Texas Exes Award.

Other Media Appearances and Personal Interests

Outside of journalism, Nguyen has made cameo appearances in entertainment media, including an appearance as a reporter in episodes of Walker, Texas Ranger and in the documentary film When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts.

A passionate supporter of sports, she is a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Mavericks, as well as her alma mater’s team, the Texas Longhorns.
