Adam Scherr was born on September 6, 1983 in Sherrills Ford, North Carolina. He was raised together with his sister in his hometown, he went to Bandys High School, in Catawba, North Carolina however he did not do well due to his horrible scores. In November 2011, he won the NAS US Amateur National Championships. He likewise won the 2012 Arnold Amateur Strongman Championships; that earned him a spot to the Arnold Strongman Classic, where he came in the tenth spot and won $1,000.
