Public Role and First Lady Status

Following Emmanuel Macron’s inauguration as President of France in 2017, the French government clarified that Brigitte Macron would not hold the official title of First Lady, nor would she be allocated a formal public budget for her activities. However, President Macron emphasized that Brigitte would remain active in public life and maintain her long-standing support role, stating she would "not be hidden." Despite the absence of an official title, Brigitte continues to play a visible and influential role in various cultural, educational, and charitable initiatives.
