Callum Blue auditioned for the role of Lex Luthor in the long-running television series Smallville. Although the part ultimately went to Michael Rosenbaum, Blue was later cast as Major Zod, a younger clone of General Zod from the Superman canon. He portrayed this character during the show's ninth season, which aired from 2009 to 2010, appearing in a total of 11 episodes.
