She attended the Oratory Roman Catholic Primary School in Chelsea, completing her education there in 1984. She later enrolled at the Godolphin and Latymer School, an independent girls' school located in Hammersmith, West London.

Film Career

Carmen Ejogo began her acting career in 1986 with a role as Carmen in the film Absolute Beginners. She gained wider recognition for her performance as Ronnie Tate in the 1997 action-comedy Metro, and she appeared as Brenda in the 1998 film adaptation of The Avengers. One of her most acclaimed roles came in 2014 when she portrayed Coretta Scott King in Ava DuVernay's historical drama Selma. For this role, Ejogo received critical acclaim and was honored with the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture. She also earned nominations for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Female and the Black Reel Award for the same role.

Throughout her career, she has appeared in a diverse range of films. At the time of writing, she had been cast in two upcoming films: Alien: Covenant (2017) and Sorry to Bother You (2018).
