An American actress and producer Chandra Wilson was born on August 27, 1969 in Houston, Texas, US. She was the only one kid in the family. And her mother wanted Chandra to be busy all time. So Chandra began her actress activity at the age of five. She played in local theater, took dance, acting and modeling lessons. After finishing the middle school Chandra Wilson studied at the college and attended different film castings. In 1991 she graduated from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts with the bachelor degree. Then in 1991–1995 she studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute. She continued her actor career but the salary was not enough for living. So she had to work as a teller at Deutsche Bank during eight years.
The first TV show Chandra Wilson appeared in was "The Cosby Show" in 1989. She kept on her theater career and in 1991 she won a Theater World Award for Outstanding Debut Performance in the play "The Good Times Are Killing Me".
