Personal History

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Chris was given up for adoption and was adopted at the age of 22 months. Chris Jacobs grew up in the northern suburbs of Chicago with three brothers and two sisters. As a youth, he excelled both in sports and theater, but found himself drawn more toward theatrical expression.  Chris Jacobs went to the New Trier High School in Winnetka, Illinois and then he attended the Cranbrook School in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan before he moved to California in the year 1988. After moving to California he attended Whittier College where he completed an undergraduate degree program and earned his Bachelor’s degree in English.

Following the completion of his Bachelor's degree, he pursued a law degree at Western State University. He graduated from Western State University College of Law and after that he applied to and was admitted to the state bar of California in the year 1995. Chris was involved in the practice of law for a few years, but has been inactive since 1999. As opportunities in television became more frequent for Jacobs in 1998 and 1999, he decided to pursue a career as an entertainer and presenter rather than a career in law.

Chris is engaged to his long time girlfriend. He proposed to his girlfriend Ivy Teves on August 10, 2016 at Wrigley Field after throwing out the first pitch at a Chicago Cubs-Los Angeles Angels game.

Chris is also an avid supporter of the Daffodil Days charity program. Daffodil Days is one of the oldest and most beloved fundraising programs run by the American Cancer Society for the past 35 years. Chris has stated that he belives the program has a special significance to him because his own mother is a cancer survivor.
