Early Life and Career Beginnings

Colin Ford, born in 1996 in Nashville, Tennessee, is an American actor and voice actor. Drawn to the camera from an early age, he began his career in the entertainment industry as a child model, appearing in print advertisements for both national and regional retailers at the age of four.

By age five, Ford transitioned into acting, landing his first film role as Clinton Jr. in the romantic comedy "Sweet Home Alabama." He quickly continued building his résumé with roles in independent films such as "Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd," "The Book of Jaene," and "Moved."

Breakthrough Roles and Mainstream Success

In 2004, Ford portrayed Matthew Steed in the historical drama "The Work and the Glory," a role he would reprise in its sequel, "The Work and the Glory: American Zion." Around this time, he participated in a high-profile photo shoot with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt for W magazine and took a promotional trip to Vancouver with the cast of "Smallville" alongside actor Tom Welling.

He then secured the lead role of Jackson Patch in "Dog Days of Summer," acting opposite veteran actor Will Patton. That same year, he filmed in Vancouver again, portraying Zeph—son of characters played by Claire Forlani and Jason Statham—in the adventure film "In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale," released in 2007.

Voice Acting and Animation

Colin Ford has also built a respected career in voice acting. He voiced Jake in the popular animated television series "Jake and the Never Land Pirates" on Disney Junior, a performance that earned him a Young Artist Award. In the holiday animated feature "Christmas Is Here Again," he lent his voice to the reindeer Dart, acting alongside talents such as Shirley Jones, Ed Asner, Jay Leno, Andy Griffith, and Kathy Bates.

Television and Film Appearances

Ford gained widespread recognition for his role as Joe McAlister in the television adaptation of Stephen King’s novel "Under the Dome." In 2011, he starred in the family drama film "We Bought a Zoo," portraying Dylan Mee, the teenage son of Matt Damon's character. He shared the screen with Maggie Elizabeth Jones, who played his younger sister.

Education and Personal Life

Colin Ford attended Campbell Hall School in Los Angeles, where his "We Bought a Zoo" co-star Elle Fanning was also a student. He later enrolled at Oaks Christian Online High School, a college preparatory institution designed for students with demanding schedules.
