Drew Seeley, born Andrew Michael Edgar Seeley in 1982, hails from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Though born in Canada, he is an American national. Seeley spent much of his childhood in Toronto before moving with his family to Florida. He began dancing at the age of ten and showed early interest in the performing arts. He has a younger sister named Katie Seeley, though he generally keeps details about his family private.

Acting Career Beginnings

Seeley began his acting career in 1999 as a voice artist, playing the character Tommy in the educational film Camp Tanglefoot: It All Adds Up. The following year, he made his television debut in the soap opera Guiding Light, appearing in three episodes as the character Andrew. His early television appearances also include roles in popular series such as Dawson’s Creek, One Tree Hill, Stuck in the Suburbs, and Campus Confidential.

High School Musical and Breakthrough

Seeley gained widespread recognition as the singing voice of Troy Bolton in Disney Channel's High School Musical, a role famously portrayed onscreen by Zac Efron. His contributions earned him a nomination for the Creative Arts Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics. This pivotal moment significantly elevated his visibility in the entertainment industry.
