Edward Spears, popularly known as Eddy Spears, was born on November 29, 1982, in Chamberlain, South Dakota, United States. He is the son of Pat Spears, a clerk, while his mother was a teacher. Eddy is one of seven siblings, including his brother Michael Spears, who is also an actor.
Standing at 6'1" (1.85 m), Eddy is often recognized in the entertainment industry for his striking appearance. He is a member of the Lower Brulé Sioux Tribe (LBST) of South Dakota. Although not fluent, he speaks some Lakota, the traditional language of his tribe. Eddy is well-versed in the customs and ceremonies of his Native American heritage.
As of now, Spears is not married and has largely stayed out of the public spotlight when it comes to his personal relationships. While there were unverified claims that he fathered a child with a former girlfriend, Spears has consistently identified as single.

His breakout role came in the 2003 television film "Dreamkeeper," which earned him the First Americans in the Arts (FAITA) Award for Best Actor in 2004. Spears garnered further acclaim for his performance in the 2004 film "Black Cloud," a boxing drama. To prepare for the role, he trained for three months under boxing coach Jimmy Gambina. The role earned him the Best Actor Award at the Phoenix Film Festival.
