Erika's friends say that she is gorgeous and well-grounded for having a high-profile job in the news world. She is known for having a calm disposition and never losing her cool. As a news anchor, she has to be very emotionally intense. She can't lose control of her emotions because that would reflect poorly on herself and the news station that she is representing. She learned about the art of composure while growing up at a historic stoned home with her family. While growing up, she said that her family did not have many photographs in her house. Instead, the artsy parents made sculptures of her daughter. While the average child would see a framed photo in the living room, Erika would rather see a beautiful sculpture.

Erika met her husband when they were young adults. Lucas Nathan was her neighbor's cousin, and she never sat still when she would see Lucas. He was raised in Manchester, had earrings, many girlfriends, liked hip-hop, and was the master of impressive flips on snowboards. He asked his father to install the trampoline within his living room.
