Heath Miller

Heath Miller plays in Pittsburgh Steelers as American football tight end for National Football League. At college level, he was playing at University of Virginia and he got All-American honors and he got the recognition to be the best college tight end countrywide.  The steelers choose him as a 30th overall pick in 2005 NFL draft. He was a member of the team for Super Bowl Championship in the year 2006 to 2009.  Heath Miller was born in Virginia, he went to Honaker High School and he lived in Swords Creek.  He was playing quarterback for Honaker Tigers in High School Football team where he became associated press player for a year as a senior and was a tow time AP all state selection. He earned All-Southwest Virginia first team honors as a quarterback and he was second team all state choice for defensive back when he added Region D offensive Player for the Year Accolades.  He set different records in passing and in leading the team to the first state championship game in the senior year but they lost against King William High School.

When he was still attending high school, Miller got to play the first base for the baseball team where he got Black Diamond District team honors and he was All Region and also All-state selection. He was forward for the basketball team and he earned the All-district All-Region honors.

Heath Miller went to the University of Virginia and she played under the coach of Virginia Cavalier football called Al Groh.  At first, he was signed to play the quarterback and made the transition to the tight end when he was still in the redshirt freshman year.  In 2001, he was sitting out, but he started each game in 2002 as the tight end. In the first game when he played against Colorado State, he got 4 receptions, 42 receiving yards with 1 touchdown.

He was able to score a touchdown in every game for the first five games while playing in Virginia. He was able to set the school season record for the tight ends and led Atlantic Coast Conference called ACC tight ends and he received three seasons for the college career.   When it comes to his professional career, Pittsburgh Steelers choose Miller in their first round with the thirtieth pick in overall for 2005. His career stats during the first round were 39 receptions, 459 yards together with 6 touchdowns. Heath Miller signed for two years contract extension and it was worth 8 million while he got 5 million for signing bonus.  Heath Miller is a son of Denise and Earl.
