In 2010, Foxx starred in Valentine’s Day, Due Date, and I’m Still Here. He also released his fourth album, Best Night of My Life. Film roles in Rio and Horrible Bosses followed in 2011, along with a TV appearance in When I Was 17.
In 2012, he appeared in Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained, followed by roles in White House Down (2013), Rio 2, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, A Million Ways to Die in the West, Horrible Bosses 2, and Annie (all in 2014). He released his fifth album, Hollywood: A Story of a Dozen Roses, in 2015. That same year and into 2017, he starred in Sleepless and Baby Driver, and joined the cast of the television series White Famous. In 2018, Foxx appeared in Robin Hood and worked on the unreleased project All-Star Weekend, which he also directed.
Throughout his career, Jamie Foxx has been recognized for both his musical talent and acting performances. In music, his accolades include the 2006 American Music Award for Favorite R&B/Soul Male Artist, and the 2009 BET Award for Best Collaboration (“Blame It” with T-Pain). He also won two Grammy Awards: one in 2006 for Best Rap Solo Performance (“Gold Digger” with Kanye West), and another in 2010 for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group (“Blame It” with T-Pain). Additional honors include multiple NAACP Image Awards and three Soul Train Awards.
For his acting, Foxx earned the Academy Award for Best Actor in 2005 for Ray, as well as a BAFTA Award and a Golden Globe in the same year for the same role. He received the MTV Generation Award in 2013 and has secured multiple Black Reel Awards and NAACP Image Awards. He was also honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Jamie Foxx has never been married but is the father of two daughters: Corinne, born in 1994, and Annalise, born in 2009. Corinne is a model and actress who has appeared alongside her father in various public events and productions. Foxx was previously in a long-rumored relationship with actress Katie Holmes, though both maintained a private approach to their personal lives.
Foxx became the first African-American actor to be nominated for two Academy Awards in the same year—Best Actor for Ray and Best Supporting Actor for Collateral in 2005. He is also among the select few performers to win the so-called "quadruple crown" during the motion picture awards season, earning an Academy Award, BAFTA, Golden Globe, and Screen Actors Guild Award for the same role in Ray.
The name "Jamie Foxx" was chosen for both strategic and personal reasons. As a stand-up comedian early in his career, he selected “Foxx” in homage to legendary comedian Redd Foxx. He adopted the gender-neutral first name “Jamie” to capitalize on club booking patterns that often favored female performers early in the lineup.
