Kaczmarek has also had a successful career in theater, including performances on Broadway and in regional productions. Notably, she appeared in Neil Simon’s Lost in Yonkers and Nicky Silver’s Raised in Captivity, the latter earning her the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award.

Personal Life and Philanthropy

In April 2004, Jane underwent a hip replacement surgery due to chronic arthritis and made a quick recovery. She was married to fellow Yale graduate Bradley Whitford, whom she met through actress Kate Burton. The couple had three children together—Frances, George, and Mary Louisa. Actively involved in philanthropic efforts, Kaczmarek and Whitford co-founded the charity foundation Clothes Off Our Back, which supports children's charities by auctioning celebrity clothing.

Although the couple divorced in 2009 after 17 years of marriage, Kaczmarek remained involved in charitable work. She contributed an afterword to the children’s book Together by her Malcolm in the Middle co-star Erik Per Sullivan. The book promotes awareness of domestic animals and addresses issues related to world hunger. That same year, she appeared on Jeopardy! Million Dollar Celebrity Invitational and won $50,000 for Clothes Off Our Back by defeating Robin Quivers and Julie Bowen.
