Born on December 5, 1980 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, to Anthony Paré, the head of the education department at McGill University, and Louise Mercier, a conference interpreter, Jessica comes from an acting family. She learned a great deal of acting infos from her father Anthony, who toured with a theatre company, mother Lousie, who acted in amateur productions, and uncle Paul, who enjoyed an impressive career as a comedian for the sketch comedy group Radio Free Vestibule.

Jessica started her career officially as a teenager theatre actress, starring in numerous theatre productions portraying impressive characters such as  Maid Marian in Robin Hood and Lucy in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. At this point of time, she also studied drama at TheatreWorks.
