John Rich

John Rich is a country music singer-songwriter from the United States. He was a member of the country music band Lonestar from 1992 until 1998, where he played bass guitar and alternated as lead vocalist with Richie McDonald. He began a solo career on BNA Records in the late 1990s, releasing two singles and recording Underneath the Same Moon, which was not released until 2006. He left the band in 1998 as things were going down the wrong path, and his entire life was heading differently. Rescue Me, an album he was inspired to create by a person with cancer called Katie Darnell, was self-released in 2001. By 2003, he had joined Big Kenny to form Big & Rich, a duet that issued three albums and eleven singles for Warner Bros. Records, including the number one "Lost in This Moment." Rich began production on his third solo album, Son of a Preacher Man when Big & Rich went on hiatus in 2007. Son of a Preacher Man has generated two additional chart songs. Before re-establishing Big & Rich in 2012, Rich released two extended plays in 2011, Rich Rocks and For the Kids.

Background and Personal Life

John Rich was born on January 7, 1974, in Amarillo, TX. John Rich graduated from Dickson County Senior High School in Dickson, Tennessee. After his graduation, he moved to Nashville and worked for Opyland USA. He wished to become a professional team roper before his eventual music career.

John Rich is married to a woman named Joan. Together with his wife, they have two children named Colt Daniel and Cash Rich.

Career

When John Rich met the band called Group Texasee, they changed the band's name to Lonestar in 1992. He was playing bass guitar for the band, and on certain occasions, he was the lead singer. He alternated with Richie McDonald in the role of lead vocalist. In one of the songs, he was the lead singer for Heartbroke Every Day. He was also the co-writer for two singles called Say When and Came Cryin' to Me. The second song became the number one single for this group. In the year 1998, Rich got fired from the band.

After John Rich left Lonestar, he started a solo career with BNA Records. After recording his album, Underneath The Same Moon, he released two singles, which featured joint efforts with Sara Evans, the Fairfield Four, and Delbert McClinton. He formed a duo called Big & Rich with Big Kenny, and they released an album under Warner Bros Records. They had ten singles with a number one hit called Lost In This Moment. When the duo went on hiatus, he released Son of a Preacher Man as a solo artist. He released two songs that made it to the top of the country music charts. He released tracks called For the Kids, Rich Rocks, and Extended Plays.

He started playing as a duo again in the Big & Rich in the year 2012. They released a new album called Hillbilly Jedi. The record finished off their contract with Warner Bros. Nashville, and the pair launched their own Big and Rich Records in 2014 for their fifth album collection, Gravity.

With the success of Big & Rich, he was also working as the producer and songwriter of other artists. He had a resume that included songs for artists like John Anderson, Jewel, Keith Anderson, and Gretchen Wilson. During this time, he was the co-writer of singles that became number one Hits like Why by Jason Aldean, Mississippi Girl by Faith Hill, and Redneck Woman by Wilson. He was the co-writer for the album of Taylor Swift, which is called The Way I Loved You. He recorded a song for the Black Label Society band, which performs in the heavy metal genre. The song was called Darkest Days.

John Rich became a television host who hosted the reality show called Gone Country for Country Music Television. It featured the actress Maureen McCormick from The Brady Bunch. Other personalities on the show were singers like Carnie Wilson, Dee Snider, Julio Iglesias, Diana DeGarmo, and Bobby Brown.
