Julianna Goldman is an American television journalist and CBS News correspondent who was born on May 2, 1981, in Bethesda, Maryland, to Barbara and Michael Goldman. Her father is a partner in the Washington law firm Silverberg Goldman & Bikoff and her mother is the founder and president of a human resource agency. Goldman attended Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School in Rockville, Maryland before going on to graduate magna cum laude from Barnard College of Columbia University in 2003. Goldman is still pursuing her education and seeking a master's degree in government and national security studies from Johns Hopkins University. Goldman began working as a journalist and closely covered Barrack Obama's presidency including his acceptance of the Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo, Norway in 2009.
She also covered Obama's first economic summit in China and currently writes about White House domestic policy. Her coverage of Barrack Obama led her to be dubbed one of the Obama "Originals" for her coverage of his campaign. Goldman was even named one of "The Power 30 Under 30" in October of 2010, a ranking consisting of the most influential people in Washington D.C. under 30. Goldman married MSNBC journalist David Shuster on May 27, 2007. The pair were married at the Sixth & I Historic Synagogue in Washington, D.C. but divorced in 2011 with no children. Goldman remarried on July 12, 2014, to Michael Julian Gottlieb, a former associate White House counsel for the Obama administration. Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan wed the pair at the restaurant Pine Creek Cookhouse in Aspen, Colorado.
