Early Career and Rise in Sports Journalism

From 2005 to 2007, Jones made regular radio appearances on the program Let’s Talk Penn State, a show broadcast on Penn State radio. This program was closely connected to her former blog titled Keeping Up with the Jones, which featured commentary and perspectives related to sports.

Jones gained experience by working with various local media outlets before receiving a major career opportunity in 2005 with the YES Network. Prior to joining YES, she was a beat reporter covering the New York Giants and contributed an NFL column to The Star-Ledger in Newark, New Jersey. Her work as a columnist was well-regarded and continues to be referenced by readers and journalists alike.

YES Network and New York Yankees Reporting

In 2005, Jones succeeded Suzyn Waldman as a clubhouse reporter for New York Yankees games on the YES Network. Simultaneously, she contributed as a game analyst for Yankees broadcasts on WCBS Radio. Her engaging style and credible reporting quickly made her a respected figure within the Yankees’ media coverage.

Jones also maintained her blog, Keeping Up with the Jones, where she shared personal insights, interviews with athletes, and commentary on games and sports culture. Through this platform, she connected with a broad audience of sports fans and readers.

NFL Network and Continued Media Presence

In 2012, Jones chose not to renew her contract with the YES Network and accepted a full-time reporting role with the NFL Network. Her decision reflected a desire for professional growth and expanded opportunities in football journalism. Her role was later filled by another fellow Pennsylvanian, Meredith Marakovits.

Jones’s radio credentials include guest-hosting stints on popular programs such as Boomer and Carton and Benigno and Roberts on WFAN, stepping in effectively during the absence of regular hosts. Her strong on-air presence and in-depth knowledge made her a listener favorite.
