Meredith Marakovits was born on July 22, 1983, in Walnutport, Pennsylvania. An accomplished volleyball player, she earned a scholarship to play NCAA Division I volleyball at La Salle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Marakovits graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications. Before college, she attended Central Catholic High School in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Career in Sports Journalism

Marakovits began building her journalism career with various roles across several sports media outlets. She gained early experience as a sideline reporter for college football, basketball, and indoor football broadcasts on Service Electric Cable TV and Communications, a Pennsylvania-based network. She also covered the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, the Triple-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies.

In radio, she served as the Philadelphia Phillies beat reporter for 950 ESPN Radio (now known as The Fanatic 97.5), offering in-depth coverage of the team. She also contributed regularly to WFAN radio in New York, one of the nation's most prominent sports stations.

As her career progressed, Marakovits expanded her reach with television appearances. She worked as a sideline reporter for the Philadelphia 76ers on Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia, and also held various roles at Comcast SportsNet New England. She appeared on programs such as Geico SportsNite, Daily News Live, and The Wheelhouse, and contributed to SNY (SportsNet New York) as a reporter and anchor.
