Early life and education

Lauren is the child of an American father and a British mother. Interestingly enough, she has Irish, Norwegian as well as Scottish ancestry. There was a controversy going on regarding her place of birth. Some people stated that she was born in Philadelphia in the state of Pennsylvania but she disclaimed those rumors in an interview, stating that she was born in the town of Cherry Hill which is located in the state of New Jersey.

She was raised in her birth town and she stayed there until she was 13 when she moved to the United Kingdom. She and her family settled in the town of Surrey. This is not her birth family name because she had adopted it back when her mother remarried. She also converted to another religion – Judaism when she was 5 years old. She attended and graduated from the University of Winchester and got her Bachelor’s degree in Drama as well as in English Literature.

Professional career

Lauren had her film debut playing the role of Sister Beatrice in the movie Casanova. She also starred in the production of Van Wilder, Van Wilder: The Rise of Taj and she impersonated the character of Charlotte Higginson. This took part back in 2006 and she also has a few other film appearances in Death Race 2 where she worked alongside Hollywood’s famous Sean Bean.

However, television is really her strong suit. She was on season three of the incredibly popular and hit TV series Supernatural where she played the role of Bela Talbot. She had to impersonate a skilled and charming thief in a supernatural world. She also played the role of a vampire in The Vampire Diaries and she also got the role of Vivian Volkoff in Chuck back in 2011. However, her most famous role remains Maggie Greene on the series The Walking Dead. She played through the entire second season of the show.

Personal life

Cohan has a dual citizenship of both the United States of America and the United Kingdom. There are a lot of rumors surrounding her personal life and there is no information regarding whether or not she got married. Supposedly she is dating her colleague actor Steven Yeun who is also playing on The Walking Dead. Even though there is no officially disclosed information about it, one thing is certain – Lauren is a brilliant actress and we are certainly going to enjoy a lot more of her in the close future.
