According to his biography Lawrence Taylor was born in an middle class family where he lived in only four room house. Lawrence was active sports person from his childhood. From his childhood he wanted to become famous and rich before he turned 30. Though he was not very bright student in his educational career he was very clear about what he wanted in his life. Parents of Lawrence were not so sure about his sports career.

In his school days he was enrolled in baseball league but later on his coach shifted him to play football. Lawrence worked really hard and improved his game with the passing time. He played in various leagues and performed really well with the course of time. Though he played well throughout his career it took him more time for entering the professional football game. The major reason was he was often skipped by his college recruiters.

Career and Success

Taylor is one of the most highly rated linebackers which is widely popular for his speed and size. Born in 1959, Taylor was a very late bloomer as he did not start playing the sport till he was in junior year. This was the main reason as to why he did not find one of the top Universities but landed in North Carolina University. This is where Taylor got noticed and started to terrorize his opponents with his raw power and speed. His stature, size turned him into an unplayable player for the opponent. On the back of a stellar display he made a contract with NY Giants and was their 2nd numbered pick.

As a professional player, Taylor made the position of linebacker his own with as many as nine sacks in the first year of play. Taylor also became the first player to win the prestigious “Defense Player of the Year” award. He has won this award twice in his career. Besides this he also face major injury in his career. In the year 2007 he married for the third time. His wife name is Lynette Taylor.

In one game when Taylor got injured and had concussion, support staff had to hide his helmet to prevent him from reentering the field. Highlights of his career includes more than 10 Professional Bowl appearances. In his 13 year career he has won 2 super bowl titles and six all pro nods. It was his sheer dedication and exceptional talent which has etched his name as a Pro football card Hall of Fame.
