Born in the year 1975 to American parents in Alexandria, Virginia, United States of America, Lea Gabrielle Potts is an American of white ethnicity. She completed her former education from the Mount Vernon High School situated in Virginia. She was also one of the participants who reached the finals of the Westinghouse Science Talent Search owing to her interest in science. After this, she went on to do her degree in mechanical engineering in the year 1997 from the United States Naval Academy.
