In 1988, Lorraine officially began her civilian career as a program manager at Unisys Defense Systems. In this role, she was responsible for overseeing security contracts and managing F-23 aircraft programs for the defense sector. Her performance earned her promotions, ultimately becoming Deputy Head and later Vice President of the company.
She continued to ascend professionally, taking leadership roles in several flight training programs. As Vice President of Flight Solutions, she oversaw operations involving high-profile military aircraft such as the C-130 for aircrew training, as well as the F-35 Lightning II, F-22, and F-15 platforms. Her responsibilities included both domestic and international training contracts, exemplifying her ability to lead across borders and disciplines.
In 2010, she was honored with the role of Vice President for C-130 Programs, tasked with overseeing the development and modernization of the aircraft systems. Her work contributed to strategic advancements in global flight training solutions, cementing her reputation within the defense and aviation sectors.
Lorraine Martin’s legacy is one of resilience, leadership, and technical expertise. She remains a role model for many aspiring professionals in the fields of program management, defense technology, and aviation training. In her personal life, she is also recognized as the grandmother of Lydia Martin, marking both family pride and professional distinction as key aspects of her identity.
