The brother and sister duo released and EP in 1999 called Dont Mess With the Time Man. By the early 200s, the duo added guitarist Joe Hottinger and Josh Smit on the bass. Halestorm was officilly formed. They went on to sign with Atlantic Records a few years later. Besides being the lead vocalist of the band she had founded - Halestorm, she also performed with bands such as Stone Sour, Seether, Shinedown, and many other bands. She had appeared on Jimmy Fallon's television show Late Night with Jimmy Fallon with her band in 2010. Halestorm has went on to achieve acclaim and numerous accolades. In 2012 the band became the first female-fronted group ro have a song go number 1 on the active rock charts. The band went on to do that three consecutive times. They also became the first band of its kind (female led) to win the Best Hard Rock performance award and the Grammy's.
To this day, Lzzy has released three studio albums with her band Halestorm. The band also tours for a lot --- almost 250 shows a year. Hale eve has had the fame guitar company Gibson Corporation release a signature Lzzy Hale guitar, which went on sale in 2014.Lzzy had stated numerous times that her influences include Heart, Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Sevendust, Pat Benatar and Alice In Chains. In an interview with cleverscene , Hale said "I grew up with [Cinderalla singer] Tom Keifer on my wall. I've always been 10 years behind. My dad is into any band with a color in its name: Blue Oyster Cult, Deep Purple and Pink Floyd. My mom gave me Heart, Janis Joplin and Pat Benatar"
In 2013 Lzzy released a clothing and accessory line of her designs, called Scissor Happy. According to her, all of the pieces were created and made by hand while she was on the road. At launch , the four peice line all came in unisex.
Personal Life
Lzzy Hale is currently not married. She does have a on-and-off again boyfriend, guitarist Joe Hottinger. She said in one interview she is afraid of marriage, because her parents almost divorced at one point. Lzzy actually disclosed the fact that she was bisexual on social media
