Marian Hossa

Marian Hossa was born in the year 1979 and he is a Slovak by his nationality and he plays under nhl as a professional ice hockey right winger and he plays under Chicago Blackhawks. He was drafted in the Ottawa Senators in its first round, he was 12th overall and he was in the 1997 NHL entry draft. After spending the seven NHL season with the senators, he played for Atlanta Thrashers, Detroit Red Wings and for Pittsburgh Penguins. He now plays with Chicago Blackhawks. During his career, he was able to get NHL All Star Game appearance and he played three times for Stanley Cup finals for three different teams and he was the Stanley Cup in the year 2009-10 seasons with his third team, The Chicago Blackhawks.

Marian Hossa won third cup with the team in the season of 2014 to 2015. Hossa got drafted in the first round, 12th overall under Ottawa Senators in the year 1997 NHL Entry Draft from the state of Dukla Trencin for Slovak Extraliga. Shortly afterwards, he was chosen as the fifth overall in the 1997 Canadian Hockey League. He was in Import Draft under Portland Winterhawks for Western Hockey League or WHL where he acquired the major junior right and in the event he did not stick immediately to the Senators of NHL.

After doing seven games of NHL, the Senators assigned him to the junior and he got 45 goals with 40 assists for 85 points in the 53 games with the Winterhawks of 1997 to 1998. He earned Jim Piggot Memorial Trophy when he was a rookie of WHL together with the WHL and CHL. He was at the West Team All-Star Honors and he led the Winterhawaks to the President’s Cup in WHL champions in the road to reach to 1998 Memorial Cup Championship. In the third period of the tied championship game, when he was against Ontario Hockey League, he collided with Guelph forward Ryan Davis and he suffered the knee injury and he had to go out of this game.

Winterhawks continued and reached to the championship during the overtime and Hossa and he had to return to the ice in the wheel chair when the teammates were pushing him around to celebrate the cup. He had seven point in the four games of the tournament and he was named to be Memorial Cup All Star Team together with the teammate Andrej Podkonicky. According to his biography, the injury prevented him to join the Senators during the rookie season up to December. He missed two months. He managed 15 goals with 15 assists with 30 points in the 60 games.
