Marilu Henner was born in Illinois, the area of Chicago. She is a daughter of Loretta Callis who was born as Nikoleta Kalogeropoulous and she died because of arthritis when she was 58 years old and her father is Joseph Henner and his surname was Pudlowski before and he died because of heart attack when he was 52 years old. The maternal grandparents are Greek while paternal grandparents are Polish. Henner had been raised at the Northwest side of Chicago in the Logan Square Neighborhood and she is a third child in the six children. The mother was the president of National Association of Dance and Affiliated Arts and was running the Henner Dancer School for over 20 years.  She started to dance when she was only 2 years and she was teaching dancing in the studio of her family at the age of 14. She was choreographing the shows at her high school when she was in College until she left Chicago when she was in the third year of the college.

While Marilu Henner was still a student of University of Chicago in the Hyde Park she originated Marty in the Kingston Mines production in Grease of 1971.  When the show was found out and taken by Broadway, they asked him to reprise this role but she decided to play in the role of Marty with the National Touring Company together with John Travolta who was playing Doody.

Marilu Henner was the host for the America’s Ballroom Challenge which is a television series. She was a contestant for The Celebrity Apprentice for its first episode and she was fired in the eighth episode by Donald Trump.  Marilu Henner had written the books about memory, health and diet and her prominent book was Total health Makeover and she was explaining the virtues for taking a non-dairy diet, exercising and healthy food.

With her autobiography called By All Means, Keep On Moving, Henner had to discuss the romance she had with different actors like Tony Danza and Judd Hirsch.  The marriages she had to Robert Lieberman and Frederic Forrest and the two ended because of divorces. She then married Michael Brown who was a former college classmate which was the second marriage of Brown.  Marilu Henner has two children called Joseph Marlon and Nicholas Morgan from the marriage she had with Lieberman.

Marilu Henner suffers Hyperthymesia and she is able to remember all the specific details of what happened with her life from the day she was still a young child. She appeared in different roles where she was talking about her memory and she has an autobiography where she teaches how to take charge of the memory and she also promoted it in different shows.
