Matt Schaub

Matt Schaub is the quarterback American football player. He currently plays for the Atlanta Falcons of NFL fame. He was awarded the pro bowl player of the year twice. He has also played for the other NFL teams such as Baltimore Ravens, Houston Texans and Oakland Raiders. Matt Schaub is very much active in social media flat forms mainly twitter.

Early life

Matthew Rutledge Schaub was born on 25th June 1981 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Matt spent his high school years playing football, baseball and basketball at West Chester East High School in West Chester, Pennsylvania. In his senior year, Matt led the school team to Ches-Mont League championship.

Matt attended Virginia University in 1999. He started his college football career with the Virginia Cavaliers football team. In 2002 he was named the ACC player of the year and ACC offensive player of the year. He was also publicised as the Heisman Candidate in the 2003 preseasons. He was also awarded the John Acree Memorial Trophy and Ben Wilson Award for outstanding offensive player by the University of Virginia.

NFL career

Schaub was acquired by the Atlanta Falcons as the 90th overall pick in the third round of the 2004 NFL draft. In the 2004 season Matt played 6 games for the Atlanta Falcons. In 2005 Matt was awarded the MVP for the bowl game played in Japan in the preseasons.

Schaub was traded to the Houston Texans in March 2007. In the 2007 season Texans with the help of Schaub were able to win the first two consecutive matches. This marked the first 2-0 start in the history of the franchise. Throughout the 2007 season Matt was succumbed to injuries.

In 2008 he set the passing yard record of 379 for the Texan franchise in a match against Miami Dolphins. Schaub was once again plagued by an injury to his knee in a match against Minnesota Vikings which forced him out of the league for 4 weeks.

In the 2009 NFL season Matt successfully led the Texans to their first winning record of 9-7. He was selected to his first pro bowl that year. In the 2010 NFL season Schaub had accomplished a record of 4370 passing yards which was fourth highest in the league but the team failed to make it to the playoffs with a 6-10 record that season.

In 2011 Texans were back with defensive improvement. Matt was successful in leading the team to their first ever playoff appearance and clinching the first division title in the franchise history.

In 2012 Matt signed an extended contract with the Texans for four years with $62 million in payment. He achieved career high 527 yards and career high touchdown passes in a match against Jacksonville Jaguars. His 527 yards is the second most passing yards in a single game in the league’s history.

On 21st March 2014 he was traded to the Oakland Raiders. In the following year he signed a contract with the Baltimore Ravens for one year with $2 million guarantees. He was named the Raven’s starting quarterback for the whole season. On 9th March 2016 he once again signed a 1 year contract with the Atlanta Falcons.

Personal life

He is married to Laurie Schaub. His wife was a former cheerleader for the Atlanta Falcons. The couples do charity work and have their own charity foundation GR8 Hope Foundation which provides help for sick kids.
