Natascha opted for her mother’s Maiden name McElhone as her performance name. She was a child of artistic capabilities from the very beginning. By the age of six she stared taking Iranian dance lessons and continued till the age of twelve. She did her schooling from a boarding school in Brighton. Next, improving her Dramatic skills she did her graduation in the year 1993 from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic arts.

Her career in acting began with theatre and she appeared in ample of stage shows. At the Open Air theatre in Regent’s Park she performed in Richard III and A Midsummer Night’s Dream and at the Haymarket Theatre, Leicester she performed in the Count of Monte Christo and The Cherry Orchard. Her first role on screen was a character of her name for BBC’s Bergerac in the year 1991 and subsequently she was also casted in an episode of Absolutely Famous in the year 1992. While working in television meanwhile she got a break in movies in the year 1996 with a small role in Surviving Picasso. In the year 1998 she gave her career’s one of the most applauded performances in the feature film The Truman Show. Due to her pensive acting she was successful in bagging roles opposite famous male leads like Brad Pitt, Robert de Niro and George Clooney in the movies The Devil’s Own, Ronin and Solaris. McElhone has also lent her mesmerizing voice to a video game named Castlevania: Lord of Shadow. She is the current face of Neutrogena for its Ageless Essentials line. Her latest gig with television is the Showtime series Californication in the role of Karen. Her love for tattoos is quite evident and on the show she is seen with an elegant wrist tattoo which has been loved by the audiences and many of them have copied it too. She had been dating quite a few persons until in the year 1998 she got married to a plastic surgeon Dr. Martin Hirigoyen Kelly. They have three sons together and lived happily in Fulham until Kelly passed away on May 20, 2008; one day before their 10th wedding anniversary. She and her children had been in immense grief due to this incident and wrote letters to Kelly after his death. Her grief could be well seen in her eyes in an interview which she gave one year after the death of her husband. She published a book named After You: Letters of Love, to a Husband and father in July 2010 which contained the original letters written by her and her children.
