Personal

Curry graduated from the Pacific Lutheran University located in Tacoma, Washington. She received her bachelor degree in biology there. She also majored in Exercise Science and Sports Nutrition. She later studied in the Sichuan Union University present in China and also graduated in journalism at the Arizona State University. Natasha Curry also ended up in the top 10 at the Miss USA pageant held in 1998 representing Washington State. She is married to a firefighter whom she met during her stint at KOMO.

Profession

Being a North-western native, Curry started her career in the magazine talk show ‘Northwest Afternoon’ where she interviewed celebrities like Tim Gunn, Eva Longoria, William Shatner, Brad Pitt, and Snoop Dog. She has also done shows with some of the popular chefs of the country and also reported on fashion and fitness. She has worked for local news affiliates KOMO-TV and KIRO-TV in Washington and also for the KOMO 1000 News Radio’s weekly segment. She later joined KDFW-TV in Texas where she anchored the noon and the morning news. She then worked for a short period at KYMA-TV in Arizona. She joined the world headquarters of CNN located in Atlanta in the year 2008.

Notable Assignments

Curry had done some major reporting in her career at HLN including the ten year anniversary of September 11 attacks, the live reporting on Hurricane Irene, and covering the 2009 Cannes Film Festival as international correspondent. She has interviewed Oscar winning directors Ang Lee, Jane Campion, and Ford Coppola. While working at KYMA-TV, she covered a helicopter journey to the Grand Canyon bottom along with the US Marines to help the Havasupai tribes there. She also served as health reporter covering the fatal state of immigrant border crossings. She was also the torch bearer for the 2002 Winter Olympics.

Curry loves to do volunteer work for organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters and World Vision. She volunteers for taking part in humanitarian work in South Africa and also helps homeless and battered women’s shelters. She also involves herself in mentoring young students belonging to high risk schools. She has also covered stories that were mired in controversy like the protests against the Confederate Flag being hoisted on the grounds of the State House.
