Nazanin Boniadi is an actress who was born in Iran and she is of British-American citizenship. Boniadi’s place of birth is Tehran and during the Iranian Revolution, the parents moved to live in London. She was performing ballet and violin when she was still young. She went to a private high school and moved to United States afterwards where she got honors for her bachelor degree in the Biological Science in University of California in the place called Irvine. While at UCI, she got the Chang Pin-Chun for Undergraduate Research Award when she did molecular research which involves the cancer treatment with the heart transplant rejection. During her school years at UCI, she was Assistant Editor-in-Chief for the undergraduate medical newspaper.
Nazanin Boniadi understands well Persian and English and in the mid 2000s, she was working as a dedicated Scientologist. Her mother was also a scientologist. In the year 2005, she became commended since she has the record of selling the most books based on the scientology. During the year 2004, she was in relationship together with Tom Cruise but it was short lived. During the documentary called Going Clear, she said that it was not accidental to meet Cruise and to be in relationship with him since the Church of Scientology has already prepared her for this. The church, however vetted her together with other girls who may be the potential wife of Cruise and she was not chosen. Afterwards, she left this church and she started to say that she is a non-practicing Muslim.
Nazanin Boniadi decided to change her career from medicine to pursuing acting in the year 2006. The major acting role that she had was when she played Leyla Mir from an Emmy Award Winning Day time drama under the name General Hospital and the SOAPnet spin off series under the name General Hospital: Night Shift. This made her to be one of the first contractor actors who played a Middle Eastern Character in the American Daytime Television history. Nazanin is also the first actress who was born in Iran to be contracted for American soap operas. She became nominated to get the NAACP Image Award since he was an outstanding Actress for the Daytime Drama Series of 2008 for the role she had in General Hospital.
Nazanin Boniadi played in the supporting role in different major roles in the Hollywood film production known as Charlie Wilson’s War, The Next Three Days and Iron Man. She was playing Nora, who is a love interest of Barney Stinson while playing the role of Neil Patrick Harris in the sixth season for the show that became a hit called How I Met Your Mother. She continued the same role in the seventh with ninth seasons.
In May of 2013, Boniadi joined a cast of Homeland Season 3 where she was a CIA analyst called Fara Sherazi. She was made a regular of the show in its fourth season. Boniadi was in the eight episode of Arc on its season 3 called Scandal where she was antagonist Adnan Salif. She was Esther in 2016 Remake for Ben-Hur.
Nazanin Boniadi is a spokesman of Amnesty International US against maltreatment of the Iranian Youth.
