Schon has been married multiple times throughout his life, with each relationship reflecting different stages in his personal journey. His first marriage was to professional makeup artist Tena Austin in 1976; the couple later divorced. He married Beth Buckley in 1987, and they had two daughters, Sarah and Elizabeth, before parting ways. In 1993, Schon married Dina Gioeli, with whom he has a son named Miles; this marriage also ended in divorce.
