Return to College Coaching and Arizona Tenure
In 2010, Mazzone returned to the collegiate ranks as offensive coordinator at Arizona State University. His offensive schemes and quarterback development gained recognition during his time with the Sun Devils. In January 2016—not 2015 as previously stated—Mazzone joined the University of Arizona as the offensive coordinator, working under head coach Kevin Sumlin. His hiring was part of efforts to revamp the Wildcats' offensive approach in the Pac-12 Conference.
